Rangers acquire Bengie Molina
Today, the Giants traded catcher Bengie Molina to the Rangers for relief pitcher Chris Ray and a minor league player to be named later. This is solely a player swap as both teams are responsible for the remaining salary of the player they traded.
Molina is hitting .257 with 3 home runs this season, but the Rangers are in need of a catcher and feel the addition of Molina will help the pitching and his offense.
Ray owns a 3.41 ERA and will added some extra depth to the Giants bullpen.
