Nationals have interest in Dan Haren?

The Nationals have interest in Diamondbacks pitcher Dan Haren, according to Nationals.com. The Nationals are looking to add another arm to make a strong run to finish the 2010 season, as well as compete for a 2011 division title.

Haren is 7-6 with a 4.56 ERA with 115 strike outs in 17 starts this season. Haren has two seasons left on his contract worth 25.5 million dollars, including a 15.5 million club option for the 2013 season.

For the Nationals, Haren makes perfect sense. Not only would he be a long-term fixture in the rotation, but he would give them a major boost and serve as a solid mentor for Stephen Strasburg.

One thing is for certain, the Nationals are looking for a veteran arm.
