The Brewers and outfielder Geoff Jenkins have agreed to a one day contract valued at a dollar, giving the outfielder the opportunity to retire as a Milwaukee Brewer. Jenkins played with the Brewers from 1998-2007, finishing his career with a World Series title with the Phillies.
The left-handed outfielder batted .275 with 221 home runs in 1,349 games over 11 seasons. His 212 homers with Milwaukee is second only to Hall of Famer Robin Yount's 251.
Jenkins played a major role in mentoring young Brewers stars Ryan Braun, Prince Fielder, and Rickie Weeks.
