CHICAGO - APRIL 12: Xavier Nady #22 of the Chicago Cubs is greeted by teammates Marlon Byrd #24 (L) and Derrek Lee #25 after hitting a three-run home run in the fourth inning against the Milwaukee Brewers on Opening Day at Wrigley Field on April 12, 2010 in Chicago, Illinois. The Rangers are looking for a compliment at first base to share time with struggling prospect Chris Davis, who is hitting .197 in 21 games this season. They nearly added Mike Lowell from the Red Sox before the season started, but he remains with the Red Sox on the disabled list with a strained right hip.
The Rangers are reportedly interested in Cubs first baseman and outfielder Xavier Nady, who is hitting .223 with 4 home runs. Nady, unfortunately, lost a lot of playing time due to the emergence of Tyler Colvin in the outfield. He has done well coming off the bench, but he would probably be more beneficial to a team if he had more consistent playing time.
