Rangers eyeing Xavier Nady?
The Rangers are looking for a compliment at first base to share time with struggling prospect Chris Davis, who is hitting .197 in 21 games this season. They nearly added Mike Lowell from the Red Sox before the season started, but he remains with the Red Sox on the disabled list with a strained right hip.
The Rangers are reportedly interested in Cubs first baseman and outfielder Xavier Nady, who is hitting .223 with 4 home runs. Nady, unfortunately, lost a lot of playing time due to the emergence of Tyler Colvin in the outfield. He has done well coming off the bench, but he would probably be more beneficial to a team if he had more consistent playing time.

Nady is probably
as healthy as he’s been in some time, if he played more , probably he’d have better numbers. He’s a good stick, decent in the field…Colvin ain;t goin’ nowhere, he’s arrived and barring a total eclipse he’s staying. Do Nady a favor and get something in return, tell Texas how much they should have him.

Lowell...
…hit 3 HRs in a rehab start yesterday.
I would 100x rather have him than Nady, AND the BoSox are looking for catching, right?
between Saltalamacchia, Rammirez, Teagarden, Treanor, and Molina, it seems we probably have one that would fit. (though I wouldn’t give up Salty for Lowell straight up…)
