According to Ken Rosenthal of FoxSports.com, the New York Mets and the Kansas City Royals are discussing several trade possibilities.
Rosenthal says the the teams are discussing a possible trade that would send struggling Mets pitcher Oliver Perez to Kansas City in exchange for Gil Meche. This trade is a possibility as both Perez and Meche's salaries match up at 12 million owed this season, and 12 million next season.
He also lists a possible trade where the Mets would send recently benched outfielder Jeff Francoeur and second baseman Luis Castillo to Kansas City in exchange for outfielder Jose Guillen and reliever Kyle Farnsworth. This is also a case where salaries match up.
If these trades where both pulled off, it is still unclear as to whether it would be a three for three trade. However, however it goes down, it would be a clear Met advantage.
