Rangers To Acquire Cantu

 According to Clark Spencer of MLB.com (via Twitter), the Rangers are close to acquiring Marlins corner infielder Jorge Cantu.

The Rangers will reportedly pick up most of Cantu's salary if not all of it. 

Cantu will likely go the Texas and platoon with first baseman Chris Davis and provide the power hitting bat they have been looking for.  The Cantu move will likely cap the deadline for the Rangers as they have already acquired catcher Bengie Molina from the Giants and starting ace Cliff Lee from the Mariners.
