Red Sox Interested In Many Relievers
According to Nick Cafardo of the Boston Globe, the Boston Red Sox are "digging deep" for a reliever to add before the Trade Deadline.
The Red Sox are looking into all possibilities which includes Rafael Perez, Will Ohman, Mike Gonzalez, Matt Capps, Michael Wuertz, Craig Breslow, Sean Marshall, Kerry Wood, David Aardsma and Kyle Farnsworth.
Ken Rosenthal adds also that the Red Sox could go after Brewers reliever and All-Time saves leader Trevor Hoffman. But the Brewers are not looking to move him.
Cafardo doesn't believe the Red Sox will go after Blue Jays reliever Scott Downs unless the price comes down.
He also still believes that the Red Sox are looking to move reliever Ramon Ramirezat the deadline as well. The Red Sox tried to trade him to the Mets for catcher Rod Barajas.
