  • Cubs third baseman Aramis Ramirez is out indefinitely after he re-injured his left thumb, according to ESPN.com. Ramirez is hitting .177 with six home runs and 23 RBIs, but has already missed time due to this injury. The Cubs will likely play Jeff Baker and Mike Fontenot at third in the mean time.
  • After bringing in pitcher Dontrelle Willis, the Diamondbacks new management decided to release the struggling left-hander. Willis may get picked up by another team, but he may be forced to play in Triple-A to show he can pitch again.
  • Former MVP Joe Mauer is the top vote getter for the 2010 All-Star Game.
  • The Marlins are reportedly interested in bringing in White Sox manager Ozzie Guillen after this season to be their manager. Marlins owner Jeff Loria wants someone with fire, and Ozzie certainly fits the bill. Not only that, but he is a former Marlins coach.
