Nationals outfielder Nyjer Morgan has been suspended for eight games following a series of incidents which included a bench clearing brawl earlier this week. Morgan was also punished for unnecessarily running into Cardinals catcher Bryan Anderson and also comments directed at Marlins fans.
Morgan is hitting .257 this season with 33 stolen bases and a .317 on-base percentage.
Morgan is also in the process of appealing a 7-game suspension for hitting a fan with a ball in Philadelphia. The suspension may be reduced by a game or two, but based on his recent antics, he will likely serve the full time.
If that happens, he could be suspended for the next two weeks.
