Blue Jays to interview Rockies coach Don Baylor

The Blue Jays were granted permission to interview Rockies hitting coach Don Baylor for their vacant managerial position, according to SI.com's Jon Heyman. Baylor has previously managed with the Rockies and Cubs, but has not held the title since 2002.

Still, Baylor is regarded as a players manager with an immense knowledge of baseball at the plate and in the field. Baylor would look good with the Blue Jays, a young club with strong pitching but still putting it all together.

The Blue Jays will reportedly interview former Indians manager Eric Wedge and Mets scout Bob Melvin, according to industry sources.
