GM and Owner Meetings are in full swing now, rumors and speculation flying everywhere -- lots of "scheduled to meet"-type of rumors that don't really do much for anyone. Here's a few leftovers from today:

• Red Sox opportunity would appeal to Roy Oswalt - WEEI
  "Now, in a free-agent class that is light on elite starting options, Oswalt will carry significant interest for a number of teams, likely including the Red Sox. After left-handers C.J. Wilson (another Garber client) and Mark Buehrle, Oswalt — based on track record — is likely the next best starter available, and the top right-hander this winter."
• Desperate for defense, Twins overpaid to get Carroll - StarTribune.com
  "Many in the industry believe the Twins overpaid to get Carroll, who turns 38 in February. Other teams such as the Rockies were looking at him as a second baseman."
• Phillies, Schnedier Close to Deal - Todd Zolecki
  "The Phillies acquired right-hander Adam Worthington from the Arizona Diamondbacks as the player to be named to complete the Mike Zagurski trade. Worthington went 4-4 with a 4.48 ERA in 45 relief appearance for Class A Visalia in 2011."
• Rangers appear ready to fight for C.J. Wilson - Star-Telegram
  "The Texas Rangers find themselves in the middle of the sweepstakes for the top free-agent starting pitcher for a second consecutive off-season, and they have given C.J. Wilson's agent every indication that they plan to be serious players for the left-hander."
