According to Susan Slusser of the San Francisco Chronicle, the Toronto Blue Jays are pushing hard to acquire Oakland Athletics starting pitcher Gio Gonzalez. The Boston Red Sox and Miami Marlins had also shown interest in Gonzalez.

The A's have made Gonzalez and Andrew Bailey available this off season, along with Trevor Cahill, who got traded to the Arizona Diamondbacks last week. There are reports of twelve teams interested in Gonzalez now, and the Blue Jays and Athletics would like to add a third team into this deal.

Despite Cahill being traded, the A's are still adamant on trading Gonzalez and getting some young prospects in return. He is expected to become more expensive as he enters arbitration next season, and the Athletics really cannot afford to pay him the likely $10mm per year he will begin to receive.

Do you think the Blue Jays will trade for Gonzalez? Who could the A's get in return? Could he end up elsewhere?
