Being a week into the season want to highlight some of the top players thus far:
Starlin Castro, SS, Cubs: He is still one of the youngest players in the league and is tearing it up to start the year, hitting .500 (8-for-16) with two triples and a doubles. He is putting together great at-bats and is going to play a key role in the Cubs' offense.
Homie Kendrick, 2B, Angels: Kendrick has come back strong to start the year after some doubt was cast over his ability to return to '09 form. He already has three bombs and is hitting an impressive .368.
Jamie Garcia, SP, Cardinals: Garcia came through on Opening Day with a complete game four-hitter. He was impressive last season and this opener will certainly put a little more spotlight on him with Adam Wainwright out for the year.
