Pirates Release Scott Olsen
According to Colin Dunlap of the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette, the Pirates have released Scott Olsen.
Olsen, who has yet to appear in a Major League game in 2011 was signed to a one-year deal during the off-season. The former and Nationals and Marlins left-hander looks to hook on with a team in need of bullpen or rotation help mid-season as he's shown that he can pitch to close to average quality when healthy.
This from Pirates GM Neal Huntington: "We believed we were not going to have a good opportunity for Scott and made this move to allow him to find a better situation."

Memo to Bill Smith
You need to fix the bullpen, sign this guy at once and release Jim Hoey.
I'm a proud fan of the Minnesota Twins and Dallas Cowboys!
