According to Ben Goessling of MASN, the Cardinals have accepted back Brian Broderick upon his recent DFA. Broderick was a Rule 5 pick by the Nationals last December and the Nationals will get $25,000 in return.

Broderick pitched to a 6.57 ERA with the Nats in '11, a 3.57 FIP, and a 2.92 K/9. Although underwhelming, he still got a fair share of batters out despite that averaged 89.5 MPH.
