Tigers Designate Robbie Weinhardt

According to a team press release, the Tigers have DFA'd Robbie Weinhardt in order to make room for Adam Wilk on the 40-Man Roster.

Weinhardt spent 15 1/3 innings in Triple-A this year posting a 8.80 ERA. The groundball specialist doesn't exactly light up the radar gun but has shown, especially last year, that he's capable of being a viable arm in a Major Leauge bullpen. Of course, his performance in Triple-A this year isn't anything to be impressed about, so if a team takes a flier on him he'll have to prove his way through the system again.
