In the wake of Freddy Sanchez dislocating his right shoulder, the Giants have placed him on the DL and signed infielder Bill Hall.
As Ken Rosenthal reports, the Giants are still awaiting the returns of Mike Fontenot (left groin strain) and Pablo Sandoval (fractured right hand), and Hall will cost them less than $300K.
Since 2007, Hall has hit .233/.295/.400 over 1856 plate appearances, and was released a week ago after playing poorly in 46 games (.612 OPS).
