According to William Ladson, Washington Nationals manager Jim Riggleman has resigned, feeling that his option should have been picked up sooner rather than later. GM Mike Rizzo commented on the situation, calling it disappointing for the players, fanbase, city, and himself.
UPDATE: John McLaren has been named as the Nationals' interim manager.
