Cubs Release Doug Davis

According to Bruce Levine of ESPN Chicago, the Cubs have released LHP Doug Davis, activating second baseman Darwin Barney from the DL. In nine starts this year, Davis totaled 45.2 innings, posting a 6.50 ERA along with a 1.38 K/BB. The San Francisco Giants tagged him for ten runs on 12 hits in his final start yesterday.
