Yankees Release Carlos Silva
According to Donnie Collins of the Scranton-Times Tribune, the New York Yankees have released RHP Carlos Silva. Silva was released by the Cubs earlier this offseason, and the Yanks signed him to a minor-league deal hoping he could provide rotation depth.
Silva battled injuries this season, and was DL'd twice with shoulder problems. He started seven games in various levels of the minors this year and was relatively successful, posting a 2.75 ERA with 28 strikeouts and six walks in 36 innings.
