Less than four hours after the Oakland A's agreed to send RHP Rich Harden to the Boston Red Sox for 1B Lars Anderson and a player to be named later, the deal is off according to WEEI's Alex Speier. The Red Sox felt uncertain about Harden after reviewing his medical records.
I am shocked the Red Sox weren't confident in Harden staying healthy after reviewing his medical records. I mean the guy has been a pillar of stability over the past nine years. What a shocker.
In case you can't tell, I am laying on the sarcasm pretty thick here. I am more surprised the Red Sox thought Harden would have a clean bill of health. Keith Richards is would have a cleaner medical record than Harden.
