Baltimore Orioles News, Notes, and Rumors: Andy McPhail, Felix Pie
Another year, another lost season for the Orioles. That leads Britt Ghiroli to question whether Baltimore President of Baseball Operations Andy MacPhail will return for another season. MacPhail, previously successful as the General Manager of the Minnesota Twins (winning two World Series championship in 1987 and 1991) hasn't been able to repeat that success in the American League East. I could be wrong, but I'm guessing MacPhail won't be one of the candidates to take over the Cubs.
In other Baltimore news, the club has 10 days to trade, release, or waive Felix Pie.

"Even when principal owner Peter Angelos told the Baltimore Sun this spring that MacPhail 'isn’t going anywhere,' MacPhail did not echo a similar endorsement and remains quiet on the subject as the season winds down." - Angle, Fox recalled from Tripe-A Norfolk - MLB.com
Angle and Jake Fox were brought up to fill holes in the outfield and corner infield positions with Josh Bell and Davis having been optioned on consecutive days.

A review of a terrible day in Minor Oriole land. - Pie speaks about being designated (with Adam Jones quotes) - baltimoresun.com
"Pie, once considered by Baseball America to be the best player in the Cubs’ farm system, has never realized his five-tool talent in the majors, partially because he seemed handcuffed by a lack of baseball instincts. Only 26 – the same age as Adam Jones and younger than Nick Markakis and Reimold – Pie feels he still has time to meet his potential."

One Mistake Justin
The Minnesota Twins won their world Championships in 1987 and 1991, not 1997.
I'm a proud fan of the Minnesota Twins and Dallas Cowboys!
