In a series of moves, the Rangers announced they have released right-handed pitcher Ryan Tucker from the organization.

Tucker, 24, is posting a 7.20 ERA, 7.2 K/9, and a 7.2 BB/9 in only five innings of work at the majors. Luck hasn't exactly been kind to Tucker, who's giving up almost two home runs a game and can't buy an out. Tucker spent most of the season at Triple-A Round Rock for the Rangers, and didn't find success their. He posted a 5.40 ERA, 8.4 K/9, 4.1 BB/9 in over 68 innings of work.

The righty was drafted as a high-school product in the first-round of the 2005 draft by the Florida Marlins. He'll be looking to join another organization,

The Rangers also placed outfielder Nelson Cruz and reliever Darren O'Day on the 15-day disabled list. For reinforcements, they recalled outfielder Leonys Martin and right-handed pitcher Mark Hamburger from Class Triple-A Round Rock.
