Daniel Murphy Out for Season; Jose Reyes Injury "Not Severe"

Adam Rubin is reporting that his sources suggest that Jose Reyes only has a mild hamstring pull, similar to Sandy Alderson's original postgame announcement:

...Reyes was sent to the Hospital for Special Surgery for an MRI after leaving Sunday's game.

Of course, Alderson noted, Reyes missed three weeks the last time he had a mild pull of that hamstring, earlier this season.

The Mets also announced that Daniel Murphy will be placed on the disabled list and Ruben Tejada will be called up to fill in at short. Murphy's injury will not require surgery, but will have a 4-month recovery time.

Mets Manager Terry Collins noted that Murphy repeatedly said, "Get me off the field."
