Red Sox Acquire Brad Emaus From Rockies For Future Considerations
The Colorado Rockies have traded minor league second baseman Brad Emaus to the Boston Red Sox for future considerations, the Rockies announced via Twitter. The future considerations will be either cash considerations or a player to be named later.
The Mets drafted Emaus in the Rule 5 draft from the Blue Jays last offseason, and gave him the job out of spring training. Some compared him to a poor man's Dan Uggla, but the Mets decided to return him to Toronto after hitting .162/.262/.162 slash line after 42 plate appearances.
His return to Toronto was also short lived, as Emaus was traded to the Rockies one day after for a minor league player and future considerations(cash or a player to be named later). For what it's worth, the 25-year-old hit .313/.389/.564 in 186 plate appearances last year down in Triple-A.

Good move for Rockies and Emaus
How this trade turns out for Boston who knows but for Emaus and the Rockies, it’s a good deal as Emaus didn’t bang the ball at AAA Colorado Springs with any sort of authority to get anyone excited about him. That’s a hitters’ league and Emaus was simply good, not very good and certainly not near great. The Red Sox must have a vision for him, which benefits Emaus. With the Rockies’ organization he was going to be seen as a fallback proposition.
