Cleveland Indians Sign Julio Lugo

According to Dionisio Soldevila of the Associated Press, the Cleveland Indians signed shortstop Julio Lugo to a minor-league contract. The deal reportedly also includes an invitation to Spring Training.

Lugo, 36, spent the 2011 season with the Atlanta Braves, though he only played in a total of 22 games before he was released. In those 22 games, he hit .136/.208/.136 (48 plate appearances). Over his career, spanning 12 seasons, he's hit .269/.333/.384 in over 5000 plate appearances.
