UPDATE: Pete Abraham tweets that the Red Sox have made progress in their talks with Ross.
According to Jerry Crasnick of ESPN, the Mets are interested in Cody Ross (which is what he'd reported the other day), and the Red Sox have had talks with him as well. Andrew Baggarly of the San Jose Mercury News tweets that Ross is expected to pick a team by the end of the day, and it's looking like New York or Boston will be the destination.
However, Jon Heyman tweets that the Red Sox (among other teams) are more likely to sign Ross than the Mets. The Braves aren't among the teams that are in on Ross.
