Jon Paul Morosi from FOX Sports is reporting that despite everything that has happened with the St.Louis Cardinals, free agent right handed pitcher Roy Oswalt will still be meeting with the Texas Rangers tomorrow.
It was reported yesterday that they had a meeting scheduled, as long as he remained on the free agent market. Oswalt and the Cardinals seem to have reached a standstill, wanting the Cardinals to raise their offer by about $2.5 million. The Cardinals may still move Kyle McLellan to make the room. If they move the salary needed, then the Cardinals will likely sign Oswalt.
Until then, he will talk with the Rangers to use as leverage or could work out a deal. The Houston Astros and Boston Red Sox were in the running still a few days ago. Last season Oswalt saw two DL stints for a lower back issue and pitched to a 9-10 record.
