For the Chicago Cubs, pitchers and catchers report to major league spring training February 18 in Mesa, Arizona and they have invited twenty-one non-roster players to camp, the club announced in a press release today. While some are prospects, like Trey McNutt and Brett Jackson, there are also a couple other of names of notice in Edgar Gonzalez and Matt Tolbert.
Matt Tolbert, 29, is also another guy who can play all over the diamond and is a former product of the Twins. In the past four years, Tolbert hit .230/.288/.319 with 3 home runs in 680 plate appearances at the big level.

Their first workout will take place on Sunday, February 19. Position players are invited to report to camp Thursday, February 23 with the team's first full workout Friday, February 24."
