Brad Hawpe is close to signing a minor league deal with a spring training invite and is drawing interest from at least three teams according to Jesse Sanchez of MLB.com. T.R Sullivan, also with MLB.com, confirms that one of the teams interested is the Texas Rangers:

"At least three teams have expressed interest veteran outfielder Brad Hawpe and he could be close to signing a Minor League deal that includes an invite to Spring Training, according to an industry source."

"Despite the surgery, Hawpe is said to be healthy and ready to compete for a big league job during spring training. The 32-year-old is coming off two terrible seasons, but handles right-handed pitching pretty well and his home-road splits aren’t as crazy as you’d think for someone who played a large chunk of games in Colorado."
