Olmedo signed with the White Sox in November after being granted free agency by the Tampa Bay Rays. Over 41 at-bats for Chicago he hit .244/.244/.293 with two doubles and one RBI while manning second and third base as well as shortstop.
This season marked Olmedo’s first in the majors since appearing in 27 games with the Toronto Blue Jays in 2007. Over six seasons at the major league level he’s hit .230/.273/.293.
The 31-year-old spent a majority of the year with the White Sox Triple-A affiliate, hitting .273/.340/.335 over 275 at-bats with 15 doubles and one triple. He’s hit .264/.316/.344 over 14 seasons in the minors.
