The Boston/Los Angeles mega-trade is now officially completed.

The Boston Red Sox have officially acquired Jerry Sands and Rubby De La Rosa from the Los Angeles Dodgers as the players to be named later in the nine-player mega-deal that sent Adrian Gonzalez, Carl Crawford and Josh Beckett to Chavez Ravine in late August, reports Evan Drellich of MLB.com:

The Red Sox and Dodgers completed their blockbuster deal on Thursday, when Rubby De La Rosa and Jerry Sands officially became Boston property...

De La Rosa, a 23-year-old right-hander, and Sands, a 25-year-old first baseman/outfielder, couldn't be sent to the Sox until the end of the season because they did not pass through waivers in August.

The waiver period ended Wednesday along with the completion of the regular season, allowing Sands and De La Rosa to become part of the Red Sox organization. The two players join first baseman James Loney, infielder Ivan DeJesus Jr. and right-hander Allen Webster in Boston as the final pieces of one of the biggest trades in MLB history.

The Red Sox designated catcher Guillermo Quiroz for assignment Thursday to make room on the 40-man roster for the two new acquisitions.
