Los Angeles Dodgers general manager Ned Colletti shed light on his future plans for several players yesterday, including Brandon League, Hanley Ramirez and Luis Cruz.

Colletti told reporters, including Dylan Hernandez of the Los Angeles Times, that he’s going to make an effort this offseason to re-sign the team’s free agent relievers. This would include right-handers Brandon League and Jamey Wright as well as left-hander Randy Choate.

While Ramirez was playing third base when he was acquired from the Miami Marlins this summer, Colletti says the Dodgers are currently “leaning toward” playing Han-Ram at shortstop. After making all of his infield starts at the hot corner with the Marlins, Ramirez appeared in 57 of 65 games at short for the Dodgers.

This decision would leave third base open entering the 2013 season. Colletti addressed this, noting that he’s heading into the offseason thinking Cruz can be the club’s everyday third baseman next year. The 28-year-old made 51 starts at third for LA this season, hitting .297/.322/.431 with 20 doubles and six home runs over 283 at-bats.
