The Detroit Tigers and Texas Rangers are among the multiple teams, including the Atlanta Braves, Philadelphia Phillies, Boston Red Sox, New York Yankees and Los Angeles Dodgers, that have interest in free agent outfielder Torii Hunter, reports Danny Knobler of CBSSports.com:

The Tigers, who just played in the World Series, are very interested in Hunter, according to sources. The Rangers, who played in the two World Series before that, are interested, too.

Hunter’s goal this offseason is to sign with a team that can help him get to his first World Series, according to Knobler. While Hunter says that he’s "made money," his focus is on winning and obtaining a ring. The veteran outfielder has a history of signing quickly and could be one of the first high-profile free agents off the board this winter.

The Tigers have been focused on adding a corner outfielder this offseason, and Knobler says the team views Hunter as "almost the perfect fit in their lineup, in the field and also in the clubhouse."

Meanwhile, the Rangers could turn to Hunter, who makes his home in Texas, as a replacement for outfielder Josh Hamilton, who’s expected to sign elsewhere this winter.
