The Baltimore Orioles have signed right-hander Daniel McCutchen and left-hander Dan Meyer to minor league contracts.

The Baltimore Orioles have signed right-hander Daniel McCutchen and left-hander Dan Meyer to minor league contracts, reports Tim Dierkes of MLBTradeRumors.com:

The Orioles have signed Daniel McCutchen and Dan Meyer to minor league deals, and the Rangers have done the same with Zach Simons, MLBTR's Tim Dierkes has learned.

McCutchen spent the 2012 season with the Pittsburgh Pirates. Pittsburgh acquired McCutchen from the New York Yankees in the summer of 2008 along with Jeff Karstens, Ross Ohlendorf and Jose Tabata in the trade that sent Damaso Marte and Xavier Nady to the Bronx.

The right-hander only appeared in one game for the Pirates last season, allowing two earned runs on one hit and a walk without recording an out. He spent most of the year with the club’s Triple-A affiliate, posting an ERA of 2.98 over 36 appearances, including one start. The 30-year-old owns a career ERA of 4.77 over 108 appearances, including 15 starts at the major league level.

Meyer hasn’t appeared in the majors since 2010 with the Miami Marlins. The 31-year-old maintained an ERA of 7.02 over 18 appearances, including eight starts, for the Long Island Ducks of the Atlantic League last year.
