Marlins president David Samson says that the right-hander will be with the Marlins in 2013.

Miami Marlins president David Samson has said in a radio interview that the club does not plan on parting ways with right-hander Ricky Nolasco, despite several rumors to the contrary, reports Joe Capozzi of the Palm Beach Post:

Nolasco, 29, has been labeled as trade bait since the news broke of the mega-deal between the Blue Jays and Marlins on Tuesday. The right-hander even got in the rumors himself, declining to comment on the historic trade but claiming "I'm next anyways" instead.

Nolasco owns a 4.49 ERA and 7.4 K/9 rate in seven seasons with the Marlins, throwing fewer than one hundred forty innings just once in his career. With Jose Reyes, Josh Johnson and Mark Buehrle moving up to Toronto, Nolasco is now Miami's highest paid player on the 2013 payroll at $11.5 million.
