The right-hander has re-signed on a $1.35 million deal.

The Chicago Cubs have re-signed right-hander Shawn Camp on a one-year, $1.35 million deal with up to $200k in performance incentives, reports Carrie Muskat of MLB.com:

Signed on a minor-league contract in late March after being released by the Seattle Mariners, the 37-year-old Camp, appeared in an MLB-high eighty games for the Cubs this past season, posting a 3.59 ERA and 6.3 K/9 rate in seventy-seven and two-thirds innings of work.

The Cubs' only free agent this winter, the veteran right-hander will likely continue in his role of setting the table for closer Carlos Marmol next season, but could find his way into a few saves situations if Marmol struggles like he did early last season.

Camp has now pitched in parts of nine big-league seasons, and is owner of a 4.29 ERA and 6.2 K/9 rate in that time.
