The Seattle Mariners have acquired infielder Robert Andino from the Baltimore Orioles in exchange for outfielder Trayvon Robinson, the Orioles have announced:

Baltimore considered Andino expendable after acquiring infielder Alexi Casilla from the Minnesota Twins earlier this offseason. The 28-year-old was the team’s primary second baseman last season, hitting .211/.283/.305 with 13 doubles, one triple and seven home runs.

Selected in the second round of the 2002 MLB Draft by the Florida Marlins, Andino made his major league debut in 2005. He spent the next four years with the Marlins before they shipped him to Baltimore in exchange for right-hander Hayden Penn. He can play all over the infield and owns a career line of .296/.323/.620 over eight seasons in the majors.

Robinson appeared in 46 games for the Mariners last season, and the 25-year-old hit .221/.294/.324 with four doubles, one triple and three home runs over 145 at-bats. He’s hit .215/.272/.330 over 288 at-bats at the major league level and owns a career line of .281/.355/.432 over eight seasons in the minors.
