Brown was selected in the eighteenth round of the 2007 MLB Draft by the St. Louis Cardinals. He made his major league debut with St. Louis in 2011 before being claimed off waivers by the Rockies. The 27-year-old went on to spend the 2012 season between the majors and Colorado’s Triple-A affiliate.
Last season for the Rockies Brown hit .232/.302/.429 with seven doubles and five home runs over 112 at-bats. He’s hit .224/.284/.396 over 134 at-bats at the major league level and .282/.365/.512 over six seasons in the minors.
McBride spent most of last season with the Rockies’ Triple-A club, hitting .344/.365/.535 with 42 doubles, six triples and 10 home runs over 439 at-bats. He also made his major league debut last season, hitting .205/.222/.308 over 78 at-bats.
