Dodgers sign six players to minor league deals

Jake Roth-US PRESSWIRE

The Los Angeles Dodgers signed six players to minor league deals on Wednesday, four of which are pitchers.

One day after teams needed to set their 40-man roster for the upcoming season, the Los Angeles Dodgers began to replenish their depth in their minor league systems, signing six different players to minor league contracts on Wednesday.

The Dodgers signed right-handed pitcher Juan Abreu, left-handed pitcher Kelvin De La Cruz, shortstop Miguel Rojas, right-handed pitcher Hector Correa, catcher Wilkin Castillo and right-handed pitcher Greg Infante, according to Matt Eddy of Baseball America.

Of the six players, only Juan Abreu found himself in the majors at one point in last year. At 26 years of age, Abreu tossed 6 2/3 innings for the Houston Astros, striking out 12 and walking 3 while posting a 2.70 ERA in that span.

Wilkin Castillo last appeared in the majors during the 2009 season and Gregory Infante also received a cup of coffee in the 2010 season.
