The veteran utility player will spend 2013 with the Chunichi Dragons.

Long-time Quad-A utility player Hector Luna is headed to Japan on a one-year, $450k contract to play for the Chunichi Dragons in the NPB, reports Enrique Rojas of ESPN Deportes:

Luna, 32, has bounced around the big leagues since 2004 but has spent most of his time the past few years playing at different Triple-A affiliates. Luna saw no major-league playing time in 2011 as part of the Red Sox organization, but found his way into twenty-eight games for the Phillies this past year, in which he hit .226/.273/.355 with two home runs.

A career .262/.314/.385 hitter, Luna has been a part of nine different organizations in his seven big-league seasons, though he has just once appeared in more than one hundred big-league games in a calendar year.
