Cleveland Indians utility man Brent Lillibridge has declined his outright assignment to Triple-A, electing to test free agency instead, reports Jordan Bastian of MLB.com:

The 29-year-old Lillibridge changed hats three times in the last year, moving from the White Sox to the Red Sox in the Kevin Youkilis trade before joining the Indians the following month in a subsequent trade. Lillibridge provided some value by playing every position on the diamond but catcher over the course of the season, but hit only .195/.250/.274 with three home runs in one hundred two games.

The righty hitter saw his most consistent playing time this past season but put up what are probably the worst numbers of his career. Lillibridge now has five years in the league with four different clubs, and is a career .213/.278/.350 hitter.
