According to multiple reports, the Dodgers are prepared to spend a lot of money on Zack Greinke.

According to a tweet from ESPN's Jim Bowden, the Dodgers are ready "to outbid" all the other teams involved in the Zack Greinke race.

Dodgers appear to be committed to outbid the Angels, Rangers & Nationals to land Zack Greinke according to sources.

Furthermore, as Buster Olney of ESPN reports, the contract Greinke signs may eclipse the one that CC Sabathia signed.

One person involved in the Greinke talks believes there is a good chance he beats CC Sabathia's record of 7/$161m.

As was reported earlier, the Angels appear to have given up on resigning Greinke to an extension at this point.

The right-hander was acquired at the trade deadline by the Angels in exchange for a group of prospects, headlined by shortstop Jean Segura. The Angels cannot receive draft-pick compensation for Greinke because he was acquired at the trade deadline, as is a rule in the new Collective Bargaining Agreement.
