Marlins rumors: Miami would 'love' to add Angels OF Peter Bourjos

The Miami Marlins are in the market for a center fielder this offseason and the team could target players such as free agent Nate McLouth or Los Angeles Angels outfielder Peter Bourjos.

The Miami Marlins are in the market for a center fielder this offseason and the team could target players such as free agent Nate McLouth or Los Angeles Angels outfielder Peter Bourjos, reports Ken Rosenthal of FOX Sports:

Rosenthal notes that the Marlins "would love to trade for" Bourjos, but he considers a deal unlikely. Instead, Miami could opt for a cheaper alternative and sign free agent Nate McLouth.

The Marlins did add veteran Juan Pierre earlier this offseason, but his days of patrolling center on a regular basis are over. Rosenthal notes that Pierre and Giancarlo Stanton are penciled in as the team’s corner outfielders for 2013.

If the Marlins opt to stay in-house or aren’t able to acquire a center fielder via trade or free agency, they could turn to Justin Ruggiano. The 30-year-old hit .313/.374/.535 with 23 doubles and 13 home runs over 288 at-bats last season.
