The agreement is pending a physical. Peralta will receive $3 million in 2013 and ’14, according to Topkin.
Entering the offseason Peralta made it clear that he had hopes of re-signing with Tampa Bay after registering back-to-back successful campaigns with the club. The Rays made their interest known quickly, signing the right-hander during the first full week of the 2012-13 free agency period.
Peralta appeared in 76 games for the Rays this season, maintaining an ERA of 3.63 with a whopping 11.3 strikeouts per nine and 2.3 walks per nine over 67 innings. The 36-year-old has posted and ERA of 3.27 over two years in Tampa Bay, and he owns a career mark of 3.94 over eight seasons at the major league level.
