The veteran outfielder is reportedly seeking a contract in the neighborhood of Josh Willingham's 2011 contract.

Free agent outfielder Cody Ross sought a deal in the range of three years and $25 million in his negotiations with the Boston Red Sox, reports Buster Olney of ESPN:

Ross, 31, is coming off a solid season with the Red Sox in which he hit .267/.326/.481 with twenty-two home runs in one hundred thirty games. His 2012 season resembles the production fellow outfielder Josh Willingham put together last season prior to signing a three-year, $21 million deal with the Minnesota Twins, a deal Ross would likely be very happy with this winter.

While Ross is in good position to earn himself a multi-year deal, his 2012 numbers away from Fenway Park -- .232/.294/.390 with nine home runs -- are low enough that he may not earn the full three years and $25 million he seeks.
