Wilson's deal also includes an invitation to spring training. It is likely Velazquez's deal does as well.

The New York Yankees have added two low-cost options to help fill their holes in the infield, signing catcher Bobby WIlson and infielder Gil Velazquez to minor-league deals, report Buster Olney of ESPN and Joel Sherman of the New York Post.

Wilson, 29, spent the last five seasons in a back-up role with the Los Angeles Angels, playing in a career-high 75 games in 2012. The righty hitter was claimed off waivers by the Toronto Blue Jays in October only to be non-tendered the following month after the Jays acquired John Buck from the Marlins.

Wilson is a career .208/.272/.321 hitter, but has posted plus defensive numbers behind the plate. His deal includes an invitation to spring training in March, where he will compete for a spot with Chris Stewart, Austin Romine and Francisco Cervelli.

Velazquez, 33, has jumped around quite a bit since being drafted by the Mets in 1998, but has never received more than a brief cup of coffee at the MLB level. The right-handed hitting middle infielder has 75 plate appearances in his four brief big-league stints with the Red Sox, Angels and Marlins, with 57 of those coming this past season with Miami. The slap hitter has a career batting line of .236/.253/.250 with no home runs.
