Angels rumors: Peter Bourjos, Mark Trumbo, Kendrys Morales

While the Angels could trade Bourjos to fill other areas of need, Los Angeles is telling teams that they are keeping first baseman/outfielder Mark Trumbo.

The Los Angeles Angels received "a lot of interest" in center fielder Peter Bourjos earlier this offseason, according to Buster Olney of ESPN. While the Angels could trade Bourjos to fill other areas of need, Olney says Los Angeles is telling teams that they are keeping first baseman/outfielder Mark Trumbo:

The Angels had gotten a lot of interest on Peter Bourjos in the first weeks of the offseason, and presumably, they'll follow up on those conversations now that Bourjos doesn't appear to have a spot available in their lineup. The Angels have been telling teams that they are keeping Mark Trumbo.

Following the signing of outfielder Josh Hamilton to a five-year, $125 million contract, the Angels have two of their three outfield spots filled between the former Texas Rangers slugger and 2012 Rookie of the Year Mike Trout.

Beyond Hamilton and Trout, LA has three players that could man their final outfield position; Trumbo, Bourjos or Kendrys Morales. Bourjos has been popular in trade rumors for the past season-plus given the presence of Trout, and Trumbo and Morales have also been mentioned since the Angels signed Albert Pujols.

The New York Mets are one team that could be a trade partner for the Angels given their reported interest in right-hander R.A. Dickey, while the Miami Marlins have previously expressed interest in Bourjos.
