Reds prospect Mason Felt in critical condition

The 18-year-old was critically injured in a one-car accident that also took the life of his father.

Mason Felt, a fifth-round pick by the Cincinnati Reds in the 2012 Draft, is in critical condition after his truck hit the center median on a Georgia highway and flipped Saturday morning, reports the San Angelo Standard-Times:

One Georgia man was killed and another injured in a one-vehicle rollover Saturday morning in Crockett County...

The driver, later identified as 18-year-old Mason Taylor Felt, was heading east on I-10 when his 2004 Ford F-150 pickup truck drifted onto the shoulder and off the road.

Felt overcorrected, went over both lanes of traffic into the center median and overturned, the dispatcher said.

Richard Lee Felt, Mason's father, was a passenger in the car but was not wearing a seat belt at the time of the accident and died at the scene.

A left-handed pitcher out of Hoschton, Georgia, the 18-year-old Felt decided to sign with the Reds in July instead of playing college ball at Oregon State.

Our thoughts and prayers go out to Felt and his family.
