The Los Angeles Dodgers are shopping shortstop Dee Gordon on the trade market, reports Peter Gammons of MLB Network:

The speedy 24-year-old was billed as the Dodgers' shortstop of the future following a successful rookie campaign in 2011, in which he hit .304/.325/.362 in 56 games. But after serious struggles out of the gate in 2012, and a dislocated thumb in early July that led to a 60-day DL stint, Gordon found himself benched in favor of Hanley Ramirez upon his return in September.

With Luis Cruz written in as the Dodgers' third baseman for the time being, Ramirez is still tabbed as shortstop, which leaves Gordon without a spot in the lineup. Despite his struggles at the plate, Gordon could prove to be a somewhat valuable trade commodity in a market that is thin on shortstops. The fleet-footed shortstop has 56 stolen bases in 143 big-league games.
